Bought two small bags of frozen edamame, cut the mouth of the bag and pour out the edamame.
Pour the edamame into a basin and rinse with tap water.
Prepare the spices: one star anise, 20 peppercorns, one bay leaf, and a small piece of ginger
Take a small pot, add all the spices from step 4, then add half teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of soy sauce (Option)bring to a boil over high heat.
At the same time, use scissors to cut off the top of all the edamame beans.
Pour the prepared edamame into the boiled seasoning water, bring to a boil over high heat, reduce to medium to mid-low heat and simmer for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat. Drain the water and eat separately. Uneaten edamame can stay in the seasoning water stored in the refrigerator and consumed within a week.
