mix rice powder, milk and sugar until combined. Add coconut milk until it is about the thickness of American pancake batter. After mixing you should still be able to see the swirls of the mixer in the batter.
roll out and make sure the short side is still long enough to roll
Roll out the red bean paste and make sure it's a few cm shorter than the short side of the mochi.
Put on the mochi and leave a few cm exposed on the bottom for the mochi to stick to itself when rolling.
Roll.
